Rachel A. LePine

Born in Waterbury, CT

Lives & works in Oakville, CT

"I grew up drawing whatever I saw around me, from Disney characters to my bedroom toys.

I was blessed to have found instructors who were willing to spend time with me to teach how they saw the world that inspired their work. One instructor, in particular, taught me that the way I had been told to interpret the world was far different than the way it could be seen. That simple concept led me to explore new worlds of color and light and shape that I had not even considered. As I got older, I discovered that drawing and painting had become a new way for me to release my thoughts, feelings, and dreams. Realizing this made me want to share this newfound freedom of self-expression with others.

I have been actively participating in artistic endeavors for the past fifteen years in both academic and extracurricular settings. Drawing and painting come naturally to me, but I desire others to experience the same freedom of self-expression that I've found in them."
